Mectec Custom Fabrication

Custom Stainless Steel Fabrication & Process Equipment

F&H MecTec provides custom stainless steel fabrication for process equipment, skids, assemblies, and application-specific components when standard equipment doesn’t fit the need.

From custom process skids and pump bases to valve manifolds, flow panels, COP tanks, and fittings, MecTec builds around the requirements of the application. When additional design or technical support is needed, the team can work alongside F&H Engineering, Machine Shop, and other in-house resources.

Discuss Your Fabrication Project

When standard equipment doesn't fit your process, F&H MecTec can help develop a custom fabrication solution built around your application's needs.

When Standard Equipment Doesn't Fit

When Does a Process Application Need Custom Fabrication?

Custom fabrication may be appropriate when an available standard component or equipment configuration does not adequately fit the process.

That may happen when:

  • standard equipment doesn’t fit the available space or layout;
  • new equipment needs to connect to an existing process;
  • a pump requires a purpose-built base;
  • a valve arrangement or flow path requires a different configuration;
  • a standard fitting doesn’t provide the required connection;
  • a COP tank or process skid needs to be configured around the application;
  • an existing workaround is being used because standard equipment doesn’t fit;
  • an engineered design is ready to move into fabrication.

Not every nonstandard application requires a completely custom build. Sometimes an existing product or practical modification is the better solution. F&H starts with what the equipment or fabricated assembly needs to accomplish and where the standard approach falls short. From there, the team can determine whether MecTec fabrication or another F&H resource deserves further consideration.

Fabrication Starts With The Application

A fabrication project involves more than reproducing dimensions. Several factors can influence what should be built and how it should be configured.

The Required Result

What does the equipment, component, or assembly need to accomplish? Defining the required result helps keep the project focused on solving the actual process need.

Existing Equipment & Connections

What existing equipment does the fabricated solution need to connect with? Those relationships can influence the final configuration.

Space & Physical Constraints

How do footprint, surrounding equipment, dimensions, and physical access affect the configuration? A fabricated solution has to fit the space where it will actually be used.

Material, Product Contact & Sanitation Requirements

What material, product-contact, cleaning, or sanitation requirements affect the project? These factors need to be understood before fabrication begins.

Operating Conditions

How will the equipment be used, and what conditions will it experience? Operating requirements can influence the final configuration and whether additional technical resources should be involved.

Fabrication Does Not Have to Be an Isolated Part of the Project

Some projects require fabrication alone, while others involve additional design, machining, process equipment, or replacement components. At F&H, we can connect these resources when needed to support the requirements of each project.

When a project requires application evaluation, equipment or component design, or CAD development, our Engineering team can help define the solution before or alongside fabrication. Once the design is established, our MecTec team can carry the appropriate fabrication work forward. For fabricated assemblies that also require custom-machined components, our in-house Machine Shop can provide additional support for work within its capabilities.

Fabrication projects may also involve pumps, valves, fittings, cleaning equipment, replacement components, or other process equipment available through F&H. We can incorporate these resources when they are relevant to the finished solution.

You don’t need to know whether your project belongs with MecTec, Engineering, Machine Shop, or another F&H resource before reaching out. Start by telling us what problem you’re facing. We’ll help determine which resources should be involved.

Standard Equipment Does Not Fit the Process?

F&H can help determine the right path forward, whether that involves MecTec fabrication, Engineering, machining, or another solution.

Bring us the problem. We’ll help determine the next step.
